Order Types

Market orders, limit orders, and take-profit orders available on Amplifi.

Market orders

The default order type. When you open a position, Amplifi places a market order on the Polymarket CLOB that executes at the best available price.

  • Execution: Immediate (fill-or-kill)
  • Price: Best available ask (for buys) or bid (for sells)
  • Leverage: Loan is issued and shares are purchased in a single flow
  • Use case: Opening and closing positions when you want immediate execution

📝 Note

Amplifi's market order is technically a tight limit order derived from the current orderbook snapshot. On very thin or volatile books, the order may not fill if the price moves between snapshot and submission.

GTC limit orders

Good-Till-Cancelled limit orders let you specify the exact price at which you want to enter a position.

  • Execution: Rests on the orderbook until filled, cancelled, or the market closes
  • Price: Your specified limit price
  • Leverage: For leveraged limit orders, the loan is issued at order placement time (not fill time)
  • Partial fills: Supported — your position is created on the first fill and grows as subsequent fills arrive

How leveraged limit orders work

  1. You place a limit buy at $0.45 with 5x leverage on $10 margin
  2. Amplifi immediately borrows $40 from the lending pool
  3. The order rests on Polymarket's CLOB at $0.45
  4. As fills come in, shares are added to your position
  5. If the order is cancelled before filling completely, the unused loan portion is repaid automatically

⚠️ Warning

Because the loan is issued at order placement, you begin accruing interest immediately — even before the order fills. This is the tradeoff for guaranteed loan availability at your desired entry.

Take-profit orders

After opening a position, you can set a take-profit order to automatically close at a target price.

  • Execution: Rests on the orderbook as a sell order at your target price
  • Price: Your specified take-profit price (must be above entry for longs)
  • Cancellation: Automatically cancelled if the position is closed or liquidated
  • Use case: Locking in gains without monitoring the position

Setting a take-profit

  1. Open a position
  2. Click Take Profit on the position card
  3. Enter your target sell price
  4. The order is placed on the Polymarket CLOB

You can cancel and re-set take-profit orders at any time.
